Stress Less Tips

As I'm approaching exam season, I'm already feeling the stress starting to build. Whether you're in a stressful job, revising for exams, writing essays or simply need a breather; these are tips everyone can use in order to stress a little less. I know I'm going to be using them in the next few weeks!

1. Take some time to yourself.
Whether that means reading a book, going for a walk or watching your favourite film; we could all do with a little more time to ourselves when we're feeling stressed. My favourite way to do this is by putting all the songs from my childhood on (S Club 7, Britney, Spice Girls, etc..) and having a really good sing along. It takes me back to some really great memories & leaves me in a much better mood.

2. Have a good ol' pamper.

Although this could kind of fall under the same category as number one, nothing makes me feel better than a really good pamper night. I usually start with a nice relaxing bath, using something from Lush. Then I just do all the usual pampery stuff like painting my nails, washing my hair, plucking my eyebrows; you know the drill. I always feel 1000x better after having one of these nights so give it a go, it might work for you too!

3. Light some candles.

There's something about lighting candles or putting fairy lights on that instantly makes me feel a little calmer. I'm not sure what it is but the softer light & good smells just make me feel much more relaxed. Heck why not combine points 1, 2 & 3 and take a bath with some lit candles and sing the Spice Girls whilst wearing a face mask. Go mad.

4. Get into aromatherapy.

Isn't it weird how a smell can make you feel calm? I love this combo from This Works; their Pillow Spray helps me get to sleep quicker and the Stress Less remedy calms me down instantly. Scents such as lavender and camomile have a relaxing effect so buying some essential oil to sniff whenever you feel a little out of your depth may help. I find taking some deep breaths or doing some breathing exercises afterwards really helps too.

5. See friends or family

The last tip is a bit of a cliche but a good 'un. There's nothing better than taking some time out and having a good catch up with those who mean the most to you. I always feel much better after spending some quality time with both. If you haven't got time to see anyone, join in a Twitter chat! I LOVE joining in #TheGirlGang chat which is every Monday 6pm-7pm. I always take time out from my work to make sure I join in as it leaves me in a great mood after talking to so many kind, lovely & positive bloggers.. If you're not sure what #TheGirlGang is then check out the founder Jemma's blog where she explains it all. Meeting so many lovely people is guaranteed to make you feel a little better.

I hope these tips are useful to you! What are your favourite tips for stressing less?

It's also nice to relax, and remember the important things in life.

I'm going to go light a candle as we speak xx
