A Blogger Influenced Skincare Haul

Blogging can turn into quite an expensive hobby, especially when some of your favourite blogs recommend some really great products...

My skin has been going through a bad patch lately and you know what it's like when you have bad skin? You get desperate and take any advice/buy anything you think might help! Well, that's exactly what I've been doing! I've had a particularly bad breakout on my chin, of those awful large red under the skin lumps that never go away, so I decided it was time to take action. I've been reading numerous blog posts about breakouts from some of my favourite skincare bloggers (Caroline Hirons & Kate from Gh0stparties to name a few) and decided to buy some of the products that were mentioned in order to try and save my skin.

I watched a video on Caroline's YouTube channel with Dr Sam Bunting about adult hormonal acne, which is what I think I have, and Dr Sam reccomend using very simple products in order to not overpower the skin. She recommended a lot of French pharmacy brands (hence why this post is so french skincare heavy) as they are particularly good at catering for your skins needs. I already use a few things from La Roche-Posay (the Effaclar Duo is one of my favourite things) and I love them to pieces so I had no doubt that I would get on with these. First up is a repurchase, the Serozinc toner. It's a lovely zinc sulphate solution toner that does a great job at reducing redness. Next I picked up the Toleriane Riche Moisturiser, which was another of Dr Sam's recommendations. I love how my skin feels after using this! It also looks really glowy and feels so soft. The next one, Effaclar Mat, was picked up on a bit of a whim after hearing a few bloggers talk about it. I've yet to try this one out but I'll let you know what it's like when I do. Finally I picked up the Redermic R cream, which is a retinol, something that Caroline talks about a lot! I'll do a separate review on this soon but my skin is definitely looking a lot clearer.

I picked up two moisturisers from Bioderma, a brand that I haven't tried much of before (apart from the famous micellar solution). I purchased Sebium Hydra and Sebium Global upon the recommendation of the Bioderma Skin Expert on Twitter. They had a Twitter chat one day in conjunction with Escentual so I joined in & enquired about my skin & these were the products they suggested for me! I really like the Sebium Hydra, it's really moisturising and my makeup sits really nicely underneath it. I've yet to try the Sebium Global, but again I'll update you as soon as I know!

Another repurchase was the Superfacialist Vitamin C+ Brighten Skin Renew Cleansing Oil by Una Brennan. I forgot how much I love this stuff! It smells absolutely divine and does an amazing job and leaving your skin feeling clean, nourished and glowing all at the same time! The next two items only came through my door this morning so I haven't had time to try them out yet but I've heard so many good things about both of them. The Malin and Goetz Sulphur Paste is a spot treatment that Kate from Gh0stparties raves about, so I had to get it! I've heard incredible things about this so I can't wait to try this out on my chin & see if it makes a difference! Finally, we have the Caudalie Divine Oil, which again is something I've seen many bloggers rave about. I don't plan to use this on my face, but instead for my hair and body, It smells amazing so I'm looking forward to giving it a go!

Update: After using some of the skincare products for about a week, I've definitely noticed my skin looks much clearer, less congested and more even. The huge outburst on my chin is sadly still there but definitely looks a little less red and angry! I'll keep you posted on how the products work at reducing this.

Have you been inspired by any other bloggers to make a purchase recently?
