7 days, 7 things

Hello! It's that time of the week again! Here's a roundup of the past 7 days, in 7 lovely bullet points...

1. My friend turned 21 last Wednesday so we went out for a lovely meal at Pizza Express to celebrate. It was the first time I had ever been there and I was really impressed! I couldn't decide between two pizzas so myself and another friend decided to go halves and split the two pizzas between us which worked amazingly. So, I had half of the Carbonara (which tasted exactly like spaghetti carbonara sans spaghetti) and half of the Pomodoro Pesto which was also lovely. I'll be going back there again for sure!

2. We followed up the birthday celebrations with a party on Friday night. It was the first time in ages (due to exams and essays) that I had gotten properly dressed up to go out and I loved it! I wore one of my favourite outfits, a pink glittery t-shirt dress from Pippa Lynn at Urban Outfitters and paired it with some black chunky heeled boots, a leather jacket, my trusty Zara city chain bag and a slick of winged liner and a red lip. One of my go-to looks for nights out!

3. After the party on Friday night, everyone was feeling a little worse for wear come Saturday so we didn't actually make it out of the house. We stayed in instead and watched Pride, which is one of the best films I've seen in a long time! If you haven't seen it, it's a real feel-good film about how a group of lesbians and gay men supported a mining community in Wales back during the miners strike. It's also a true story which makes it even more heartwarming. It features an amazing cast too.If you have yet to see it, I highly recommend it!

4. I'm getting back into the swing of blogging again after going a bit quiet over January due to exams. I tend to have a day where I sit down, write lots of posts and then schedule them for the next week or so. I find this works best for me as with being at uni I don't really have a weekly routine, each week varies due to different nights out or plans with friends so I can never tell when I'm going to be free or busy. Writing them all in one go means I don't need to worry about not having written a post in a few days (yes, I do worry about that!) and plus, once I've written one, I get really into the swing of writing and want to write a load more!

5. I had a bit of bad news this week in the form of my Grandma being admitted to hospital. She's had really bad depression for almost a year now and it seems it got a little worse this week and she was sent into hospital by the Crisis team that visit her everyday. She seems to be doing ok though, and will hopefully be out in the next few days although I'm not sure she'll ever make a full recovery from the depression. Mental health illnesses are so horrible :(

6. I've been trying to up my daily water intake lately in a bid to improve my skin and also do some good for my body. I've realised on some days, I barely have 1 drink, and that can't be good for me! I've been carrying round a bottle at all times, and constantly sipping throughout the day. I'm trying to aim for 2L a day, and whilst I'm not currently hitting that mark, I hope I will be by next week! I'll keep you posted on any skin improvements!

7. We rounded off the week with our usual Sunday roast with our friends. We have a pretty good system where myself, my boyfriend and my flatmate cook the roast, and everyone else washes and cleans up after! It's a really nice way to end the week, and reminds me of being back home now we have a regular Sunday roast going!

What have you been up to this week?
